New Governing Committee of Payvand British-Tajik Society
On April 16, 2015 in London the Embassy in cooperation with Payvand Forum branch in the UK organized the launch event of the new Governing Committee of the British-Tajik Society which now gained a new name of Payvand British-Tajik Society.
The event took place at the prominent building of Art Workers’ Guild. At the main hall of the Guild lined with portraits of its famous Past Masters get together the members of Tajikistan and Persian speaking community in London, representatives of Foreign Ministry, British Museum, UK Academic Institutions, international business and public organizations, scholars and students.
The Ambassador of Tajikistan to the UK H.E. Mr.Erkin Kasymov in his opening address welcomed guests and encouraged new potential members of the Society to take active part in future plans and projects of the Society. He referred to positive experience of cooperation between the Embassy and Payvand brunch in the UK and called the new Governing Committee of the Society on active continuation of the work started before.
After Ambassador’s address the new Chairman of the Society Dr.Jalal Badakhchani delivered to the audience presentation on the history of Tajikistan, activities of Payvand International Forum and future plans of Payvand British-Tajik Society. The presentation included the newest film on the modern Tajikistan and the progress the country has made during years of independence.
The presentation was followed by intervention of Mr. Bahman Chahardelhi, Chief Executive Officer of Keyhan Publisher House. Being a great friend of Tajikistan and the first UK journalist who interviewed the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon he shared his experience of Tajikistan and its people and confirmed his readiness always to support the country and Payvand British-Tajik Society.
Dr.Dagi Dagiev, Vice-Chairman of Payvand British-Tajik Society introduced the procedures of membership of the Society and explained the benefits and advantages for new and potential members. He also reaffirmed that the Society will put all its efforts to support and assist its members and serve to increase exchanges of the people of two countries in various fields of activity.
At the end of the event participants actively made their comments and proposals for future activities of the Society and expressed their willingness and readiness to join it as a new members.
