The Consular Service of the Embassy of the Republic of Tajikistan in London is open on Monday's and Thursday's from 10.00 to 12.00.

For urgent issues Consular Service is also available other days, but arrangement should be done by phone or e-mail.

Advisory note for citizens of Tajikistan residing in the UK:

According to the article 29 of the Law of Tajikistan “On Citizenship of the Republic of Tajikistan”, if a person residing abroad does not have a consular registration within five years, unless there is a valid excuse, his/her rights to citizenship can be lost.

Each citizen must be registered at a consular section of embassies of the Republic of Tajikistan abroad after 30 days of his/her arrival to a country.

Passport Services

The Embassy of the Republic of Tajikistan in the Great Britain has launched the center for collecting information for issuing biometric ID documents (passports) for the citizen of Tajikistan.

The Embassy is ready to assist to all Tajik citizens, who are living and studying abroad in issuing biometric documents (passports).

The biometric passport can be issued on the basis of following documents identified in the Decree of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan №203 dated April 2, 2009:

- signed application form (available at http://mfa.tj/files/shinosnoma_docs/toj/anketa_1.pdf)

- 4 photographs size 3.5x4.5

- original and copy of the internal passport of the Tajik citizen, original and copy of the foreign passport of the Tajik citizen

- receipt for consular fees/confirmation of payment

It will take from 1 to 2 months to review the application form and issue new bio- metric passport.

In accordance with the Decree of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan №15 dated 25.01.2010 para 1.17 the consular fees related for issuing bio- metric documents identified in amounts:

-100 USD for citizen who are 16 and over

- 25 USD for children (less than 16 years old)

These amounts are not including the mail /courier services.

The Consular Section of the Embassy accepts applications to extend validity of expiring or expired passports.

In order to extend the validity of a passport the following documents should be submitted:

Passport (original and copy's of national and foreign)
Letter of request (Zayavlenie)
Two photos (3.5X4.5 cm)
Copy of document of residence (visa, etc)
Money order payable to the Embassy of Tajikistan for £50.00. Cash is not accepted.

If you lose a passport while in the UK, you must do the following:

  • Report you passport lost or stolen to the Police. You need a Police Report to carry with you until you receive a certificate from the Embassy of Tajikistan.
  • Report the loss to the Embassy of Tajikistan in London.

Certificate for return to the Republic of Tajikistan

In cases where the applicant must travel urgently, the Embassy can issue a certificate for return to the Republic of Tajikistan. The certificate will be valid for 30 days.

The applicants should submit the following:

Copy of National Passport;

Letter of request (zayavlenie);

Two passport photos (3.5x4.5 cm);

Copy of document of residence;

Police Record;

If applying by post a self-addressed prepaid envelope must be included.

The Certificate will be issued free. For any additional information, please contact the Embassy.
